FAQ

Goals for the first year?

The goals are to get the association established, 5013c requested, build membership and provide support for each other with recognition, professional development, and mentorship

Do we pay individually or can our departments pay for the membership?

Either works!  If your departments are willing to cover the dues – they would pay for your membership by transfer voucher.  If you need to pay yourself – there will be a means to accept payment (Paypal/check) by the time we’re accepting payments.

I’m really interested in the idea of a conference and would love to hear more thoughts about that:

The plan is to have an annual conference each spring, around/close to administrative professional’s day, as a means of coming together to get to know each other, present awards, provide professional development sessions, and hear ideas for growing more in the future.

How would we pay for meetings and fees since we do not have fee-based monies?

If your department/county/regional office is willing to pay for you to attend the meetings – they would be able to send payment by transfer voucher. If you are paying on your own – we will have Paypal and can accept checks.

How much are dues?

Dues are only $20 per year.

How will being a member of the Association provide learning opportunities?

By being a member – you have the opportunity to join in the monthly lunch and learns as well as attend the conference with more professional development sessions.  There is a mentorship component to the association that will be added for Extension support staff on the UTIA campus. This mentoring will be crafted after the county mentoring program already established in the regions.

What all does this consist of?  How will it help me better in my office job?

Mentoring, professional development, encouragement, and appreciation – these are the priority areas for TEAAP. Providing the opportunity for all members to participate and help each other, that there will be many opportunities to learn more, grow more, and be better at our jobs.  Whether you’ve been on the job 1 year or 30 years – there is always a chance to be better!

How will we benefit from it?

Our motto of being Better Together is something we hope will benefit us all.  Being a part of this group is intended to help encourage everyone to be their best, to support those around them, and to help all to be better at what we do.

Will this association continue and not fall by the wayside?

We certainly hope not!  It’s our intention to keep getting better and bigger every year and with your help – we can keep it moving forward.  We are still learning and building as we go, so we can use all of your help, your ideas, and encouragement to keep getting better and stronger.
